What stays on your device

The notes are spoken in the page, the ground plan and the prompt book are drawn in the page, and the grading runs in the page. There is no server side to this site: it is a set of static files. Any name you type, for a certificate, a class or a cue sheet, stays in this browser. Nothing is uploaded.

Progress, your notation key, your cue sheets, your voice settings and any name you type for a certificate or a class are written to your browser's own local storage, under keys beginning with spikemark. and nowhere else. That means they belong to one browser on one device: they do not follow you to a phone, they are not backed up anywhere, and nobody else can read them. You can export your progress as a JSON file and import it again on another browser. Clearing site data for this site removes it permanently and immediately.

Because there is no account, there is also nothing to delete on our side and no way for us to restore anything you clear. That trade is deliberate. A practice desk for stage managers does not need to know who you are.

The voice

Notes and lines are spoken by your own browser's speech engine. Most voices run on your device. Some browsers also offer online voices, and if you choose one of those your browser sends the text of each note or line, such as "Mrs Hale crosses down left to the stove", to the browser maker's speech service. The voice picker marks online voices, and Spikemark picks an on device voice by default whenever one exists. The notes are invented, the lines are from public domain plays, and neither contains anything about you.

No real productions

Every staging, ground plan and cue is invented for practice. Cue sheets you type stay in this browser; if you use one for a real production, export it and keep your own copy, because clearing site data removes it.

No accounts

There is no sign up, no sign in, no email capture and no password to lose. Every free page on this site is reachable without identifying yourself in any way.

What is collected

No account, no sign in, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics of what you answer. Standard web server logs kept by the static host may record the request for a page, its time, and a network address, in the ordinary way that any web server records a request.

Purchases and access checks

If a paid plan is ever offered and you buy it, the payment is handled by RevenueCat and Stripe, who receive what a checkout needs. Spikemark never sees your card.

With billing switched on, every page checks your access with RevenueCat when it loads, before and without any purchase, using an anonymous id created in this browser. That check sends the anonymous id and what any web request carries, such as a network address, and never your name, your answers, your cue sheets or your progress.

Cookies

Spikemark sets no cookies of its own, and it carries no advertising or cross site tracking scripts.

Children

The site is written for high school and college students, teachers and community theatre stage managers, and is not directed at children under 13. It asks for no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the change will appear on this page. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.

Questions about privacy, or a request about your data, go to socialreminderinfo@gmail.com. Since nothing is stored on a server, most such requests are answered by telling you which local storage keys to clear. The daily blocking drill and the guide work the same whether or not you ever write in.
